The brief.
Blue Line Fishing Charters is an owner-operated Lake Huron fishing charter run by Captain Fred Wondergem out of Grand Bend, Ontario, with departures also from Port Franks. The boat is a 2017 KingFisher 27 ft. with Cannon Optimum downriggers, a Fish Hawk temperature probe, and an enclosed heated cabin — set up for trolling Chinook, Coho, and Atlantic salmon, Rainbow and Lake trout, and Walleye (Pickerel) across the southern Lake Huron waters from Kettle Point to Bayfield. Captain Fred holds Transport Canada Med A3 and SVOP commercial certifications and has over 35 years on this stretch of the lake, including the 2018 BWA Sarnia Salmon Derby win. Season runs April through October.

4-Hour Charter
For: Up to 6 guests — individuals, families, and small groupsWhen: April–October 2026; morning departures at 7 a.m., afternoon at 2 p.m., evening options availableHalf-day trolling trip on a 2017 KingFisher 27 ft. departing Grand Bend (55 River Rd.) or Port Franks (10072 Poplar Ave.). Cannon Optimum downriggers and a Fish Hawk probe locate salmon in 47–53 degree water. All rods, reels, and lures are included, and fish cleaning and packaging are done for free at the dock. Guests bring their own Ontario fishing license, layers, and a cooler.

For: Up to 6 guestsWhen: April–October 2026Full-day trolling trip on the same KingFisher rig, targeting Chinook, Coho, and Atlantic salmon, Rainbow and Lake trout, and Walleye (Pickerel) across southern Lake Huron — short runs from shore in spring, up to 10 miles out by July and August. Enclosed heated cabin and toilet on board. $100 refundable deposit secures a booking; deposits are refunded for weather cancellations or any cancellation made one week ahead.
