The brief.

By The Bay Adventures has operated since 2004 on Lake Superior's Canadian North Shore, near the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area at Nipigon, Ontario. Owner-operator Richard Harvey holds RYA Yachtmaster (Coastal and Offshore) certification, Transport Canada SVOP and MED A3 designations, and instructor ratings as a Technical Trimix Instructor, Open Water and Specialty Instructor, and Advanced Marine and Wilderness Remote First Aid Instructor. The company runs dive charters to named Lake Superior wrecks including the Gunilda, Judge Hart, Theano, Rappahannock, and Mary E. McLachlan. It also delivers sport and technical scuba courses, first-aid training, and sailing and sight-seeing charters, with lodging and fishing arrangements available on request.

    Wreck Dive Charters

    For: Recreational and technical divers

    For: Beginner to certified divers

    Recreational scuba training spanning Try Scuba, Open Water Diver, Refresher, and Specialty courses, taught by the operator's Open Water and Specialty Instructor.

    Technical Diving Courses

    For: Certified divers advancing to technical levels

    Technical training including Nitrox Diver, Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, and Recreational Trimix, led by a Technical Trimix Instructor.

    First-aid courses spanning Basic, Advanced, Wilderness Remote, and Marine First Aid, delivered by an Advanced Marine and Wilderness Remote First Aid Instructor.
