Deep Roots Adventure
01 — About

The brief.

Deep Roots Adventure is the Algonquin South Gate outfitter at 4071 Elephant Lake Road in Harcourt, Ontario, operating the Kingscote Outpost on the southern boundary of Algonquin Provincial Park. From a dock on the York River, the company rents canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards for self-guided Kingscote Lake and Algonquin trips, runs a five-hour guided paddle-and-hike to High Falls, and offers tin-boat and pontoon guided fishing across South Algonquin and Haliburton lakes. Wilderness-skills workshops, foraging classes led by Outdoor Canada contributor Steve Lukacic, and customisable school and youth programs run year-round from the Haliburton Highlands base. The outpost itself operates from Victoria Day weekend through Thanksgiving.
