The brief.

Dive Brockville Adventure Centre is a full-service dive shop and charter operator at 12 Water Street East on the St. Lawrence River waterfront in Brockville, Ontario, operating in the 1000 Islands Region as Abucs scubA Charters since 1994. The fleet of up to five boats runs scheduled charters out of Brockville, Rockport, and Picton launches from April through December, seven days a week, reaching named wrecks including the Robert Gaskin, Lillie Parsons, Muscallonge, Henry C. Daryaw, and J. B. King. PADI IDC Staff Instructors plus SDI/TDI and IANTD tech instruction cover divers from Discover Scuba through technical certifications, and a CSA-approved air station handles air, nitrox, trimix, and rebreather fills on site. Non-divers can book one-hour boat cruises, guided snorkel tours, kayak and SUP rentals, or a disc golf island shuttle.

    Brockville & Rockport Dive Charters

    For: Certified scuba divers (2-diver minimum per charter)When: April–December, seven days a week

    Day charters out of the Brockville and Rockport launches onto St. Lawrence wrecks including the Robert Gaskin (sunk 1889), Lillie Parsons (1877), Muscallonge (1936), Henry C. Daryaw (1941), and J. B. King (1930), plus the Brockville Wall natural formation. Captains hold PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Assistant Instructor credentials, and the on-site CSA-approved air station handles refills between dives.

  2. 02

    Picton Dive Charters

    For: Certified scuba divers (6-diver minimum); tech divers welcomeWhen: April–December

    Picton-launch charters reach the eastern Lake Ontario / Bay of Quinte wreck sites the standard Brockville run does not cover. Tech-dive options ride with trimix and rebreather fill support back at the Water Street shop. The six-diver minimum reflects the longer transit; small parties can join scheduled Picton dates rather than charter the boat outright.

    Guided Snorkeling at Centeen Park

    For: Non-divers and beginnersWhen: Summer

    Shore-based one-hour guided snorkel at Centeen Park, a Brockville waterfront park with sunken artifacts and shallow viewing. A separate option runs snorkel adventures from the charter boat on the open St. Lawrence — contact the shop for boat-snorkel scheduling.

    One Hour Boat Cruise

    A one-hour sightseeing cruise around the 1000 Islands from the Brockville waterfront. No diving or swimming required.

    Disc Golf Island Experience

    For: Groups; any experience levelWhen: Open-water season

    Boat shuttle to a 1000 Islands island disc golf course, run from the dive fleet. The shop also rents discs ($10–$20 + tax for 4-hour or full-day) for the five mainland Brockville courses, including one within a ten-minute walk of Water Street East.

    Kayak, Canoe & SUP Rentals

    For: Paddlers — solo and tandemWhen: Open-water season, during shop hours

    Self-guided rentals from the Water Street East waterfront, directly onto the St. Lawrence. Multi-day rates run through to a full week for paddlers planning a 1000 Islands trip.

    Single kayaks $40–$300 + tax; canoes and tandem kayaks $50–$350 + tax; paddleboards $40–$300 + tax (2 hours through full week)

    River Uber (private island shuttle)

    For: Groups wanting drop-off / pick-up at a 1000 Islands islandWhen: Charter season

    Private boat shuttle to and from a 1000 Islands island — picnic, swim, or set up camp and call for pickup. Run with the same charter fleet.

    $65 + tax per person; $130 + tax minimum

    PADI Courses

    A full PADI training ladder runs out of the shop — Discover Scuba, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, plus specialty courses including Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, Deep Diver, Dry Suit Diver, Enriched Air (Nitrox), Search and Recovery, Underwater Digital Photography, and DSMB Diver. Kids' programs include Bubble Maker and Seal Team, and Mermaid courses are also offered. Tech instruction with SDI/TDI and IANTD certifications runs through staff instructor Mike.
