Fly Fitters.

Guided fly, spey, and sport fishing on SW Ontario's Maitland, Bayfield, and Saugeen rivers

Fly Fitters
01 — About

The brief.

Fly Fitters is an Ontario fly fishing outfitter run by guide Mike Verhoef, who started the business after returning to his home waters near Goderich in 2004; longtime guide Neil Leduc also fishes the Skeena River in northern BC. Operating on the Maitland, Bayfield, and Saugeen rivers along Lake Huron's shore, they guide for steelhead, resident trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, muskie, and carp. Trips include drift-boat floats, walk-and-wade outings, learn-to-fly-fish and spey-casting instruction, and corporate events, with gear supplied. A member of the Huron Tourism Association since 2002, Fly Fitters practices catch-and-release only and emphasizes conserving the local river ecosystems.
