The brief.
GyrKite Birding Tours was founded in 2023 by Ontario guides Alessandra Kite and Kiah Jasper, who lead small-group and private birding trips across the province. Their schedule covers well-known hotspots including Point Pelee, Pelee Island, and Long Point, alongside seasonal destinations such as the Niagara River for overwintering gulls and waterfowl, Amherst Island for owls and winter finches, Algonquin Provincial Park for boreal specialties, and Carden Alvar. Trips run from winter excursions through spring migration, with participant caps typically between 4 and 10. Guides are trained in first aid and tailor outings to individual interests and skill levels, from beginners to experienced birders. The company are Kowa Optics ambassadors and emphasize education and conservation.
