Guided snowmobile tours, horseback lessons, and off-grid cabins on a wilderness property near Algonquin Park

Highland Wilderness Tours
01 — About

The brief.

Highland Wilderness Tours operates from a 134-acre property near Maynooth, Ontario, close to Algonquin Park. Owners Matt and Penny run guided snowmobile tours from late December using two-seat Grand Touring Ski-Doo ACE machines, with 2-, 3-, and 4-hour routes graded by riding experience. Year-round, the farm offers English and Western riding lessons and horse boarding through an indoor arena, with instruction following CHA, EC, and OEF guidelines. Five off-grid cabins and two campsites sit across the secluded property, several heated for shoulder-season stays, alongside roughly 8 km of on-site ski and snowshoe trails. The operation also runs under the Highland Farms N Stables name.
