North Ridge Ranch.
Family-run dog sledding tours on 500 acres of private Muskoka trails, with 60-plus Alaskan Huskies in Huntsville
The brief.
North Ridge Ranch is a family-run dog sledding operation in Huntsville, Muskoka, about 2.5 hours north of Toronto. Brad and Leah Fetterley run the kennel and guide every tour personally, working a pack of 60-plus Alaskan Huskies across 500 acres of private mixed-bush trails — towering pines, hills, flats, and turns reserved exclusively for North Ridge teams. Brad established the operation in 1995 after guiding at Deerhurst Resort; Leah trained at Lakehead University and spent six years guiding at Winterdance Dogsled Tours in Haliburton before joining the kennel. Tours are customer-driven on small group outings of four guest sleds plus a lead guide sled, with each team running 5 to 8 dogs at an average pace of 15 km/h.
