The brief.
River City Cycle started in the summer of 2020 to rent bicycles in downtown Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario. The shop sits near the Iron Horse Trail and Spurline Trail, the paved rail-trail paths that run north-south through the Kitchener-Waterloo urban core, and offers free parking for riders. Its rental fleet covers commuter, cruiser, road, mountain and gravel bikes for hire, plus an ALLEYCAT electric-bike rental for longer outings. Reservations are handled through FareHarbor. The same storefront sells used bikes and merchandise and, in the off-season, runs ski and snowboard winter tuning services including waxing, edge sharpening and repairs. Riders are pointed toward the local trail network and the nearby Hydrocut mountain-bike trails.
