Rooted Heart.
ANFT-certified forest bathing and private yoga in Peterborough and the Kawarthas, led by an ecologist-trained guide
The brief.
Rooted Heart is a Peterborough-based forest therapy and yoga practice led by Kristina Domsic, an ecologist with a 2004 Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo and an Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) certification earned in 2018 after training in British Columbia. Sessions run throughout Peterborough and the Kawarthas — slow, sensory walks on fairly flat terrain, ending with wild-foraged herbal tea — alongside private hatha-lineage yoga rooted in Queen Street Yoga's 2014 alignment-based teacher training. Public forest bathing groups cap at 4–12 participants; yoga is taught one-on-one at the student's location or at Peterborough Living Yoga at 394 George St. N. Past co-facilitated retreats have run through Northumberland, Huron, and Kawartha Highlands venues.
