The brief.

Smooth River Guiding is owned and operated by Matt Martin, a multi-species angler who guides between trout rivers and open-water lakes across south-central Ontario. Trips run on the Credit, Grand, Saugeen, Nottawasaga, and Bighead Rivers and on Georgian Bay, Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching, and Muskoka waters, with departures from Midland and the Upper Credit River area. Offerings range from an introductory fly-fishing session for beginners to walk-and-wade and drift-boat days for trout and steelhead, power-boat trips for smallmouth bass, pike, and musky, warm-water float trips, and winter ice-fishing outings. Each trip takes up to two anglers and targets wild resident trout, carp, pike, and bass according to season.

    Introduction to Fly Fishing

    A 3.5-hour foundational session on the Upper Credit River covering casting and fly-fishing basics for new anglers.

    A full guided day wading the Credit, Grand, or Saugeen Rivers for trout, suited to anglers of any experience level.
