South Algonquin Equestrian Trails
01 — About

The brief.

South Algonquin Equestrian Trails has guided riders through the south end of Algonquin Park and the Haliburton Highlands by horseback since 1999. Run from 4378 Elephant Lake Road in Harcourt, Ontario, it is a mother-daughter operation led by Tammy and Jocelyn Donaldson, who hold Equine Canada Trail Guide Instructor Certification. The stable offers guided trail rides from a half hour to five hours, pony rides for small children, a family pony picnic ride, and longer specialty rides including the 22 km High Falls ride and a 5-hour Scenic Ride. Multi-day cabin packages combine on-site lodging with three hours of riding each day and meals. The property also runs primitive equine campsites with covered stalls for guests bringing their own horses, plus a morning Saddle Up summer camp.
