The Royal Garrison.
Indoor archery and axe-throwing range in downtown Guelph offering hourly range time, six-week beginner classes, and medieval summer camps
The brief.
The Royal Garrison is an indoor archery and blade-throwing facility at 28 Essex Street in downtown Guelph, Ontario. The archery range holds ten lanes out to an 18-metre maximum distance with five 4'x4' movable foam targets, open to ages 6 and up. The throwing range — for ages 16 and up — runs across cedar stumps and competition-style targets with a rotating selection of axes including double-headed axes and league-style hatchets. The Garrison also runs a six-week Beginner Archery class September through June, private lessons with two named coaches, an annual membership program with 24-hour range access, and medieval-themed summer day camps for ages 10–15. An on-site bow shop and licensed bar round out the facility.
