Algonquin Park Access Point #1 canoe outfitter on Kawawaymog Lake — Kevlar rentals, guided trips, and off-grid cabins since 1991

Voyageur Quest Outfitting & Algonquin Wilderness Centre
01 — About

The brief.

Voyageur Quest Outfitting & Algonquin Wilderness Centre is a full-service canoe outfitter on Kawawaymog Lake at Algonquin Provincial Park's Access Point #1, the north-west gateway into the park's interior. Founded by John Langford in 1991, the operation rents a Kevlar canoe fleet from $37 to $53 a day, runs guided day and multi-day trips with Algonquin Wilderness Centre naturalists, and operates an off-grid lakeside outpost with cabins, a bunkhouse, an outpost store, and the licensed Broken Paddle Patio. Published routes range from an overnight to Lost Dog Lake to a 10–14 day expedition from Kawawaymog down the Nipissing to the Petawawa River. School groups, Duke of Edinburgh adventures, and winter snowshoe and cross-country ski programming run from the same Access Point #1 base.
