Wild Muskoka Botanicals.
Foraging walks and wild-medicine classes in Muskoka, plus small-batch botanical foods and bitters.
The brief.
Run by Laura Gilmour from the Wild Spirit Permaculture Homestead near Dwight, on the western edge of Algonquin Park, Wild Muskoka Botanicals pairs hands-on foraging education with small-batch wild foods. Gilmour holds an ecology degree and has taught plant and mushroom walks for more than 18 years. Programs cover plant and fungi identification, foraging safety and ethics, and traditional herbal medicine, ranging from single-day introductory walks across the Muskoka region to multi-season Wild Medicine and Fungi as Kin journeys based on Lake of Bays. The business operates a health-certified kitchen in Dwight producing elderberry syrup, bitters, shrubs and infused vinegars, and acknowledges operating on Anishnaabe land within the Williams Treaty Territory.
