The brief.

Winding River Equine operates a horseback riding and training facility on Gelert Road in the Haliburton Highlands, and is home to the South Algonquin Horse Camp. The facility teaches English riding to riders age seven and up, emphasizing safety and gradual building of fitness and skill, and offers private, semi-private, and group lessons across fall, winter, and spring terms. It boards a small number of horses with access to all riding rings and a cross-country field, and provides horse and rider training.     Riding Lessons

    English riding instruction focused on safety and slow building of fitness and skill. Private beginner lessons run about 1.5 hours and include grooming and tacking; regular and semi-private options run 45 minutes to an hour. Group sessions span 8–10 weeks with up to three riders.
