Wood Angling.
Lake Simcoe, Muskoka, and Georgian Bay guided fishing trips just 45 minutes from Toronto.

The brief.
Wood Angling is a small fishing guide operation run by Miles, a McGill graduate who turned full-time guide in 2024 after five years of part-time work on the water. Trips run out of the Lake Simcoe region, roughly 45 minutes north of Toronto and 15 minutes from local GO train stations, with pickup and drop-off available on request. The boat is an 18-foot Alumacraft equipped with a 150hp main and 9.9hp kicker, a Terrova trolling motor, and dual Garmin Livescope displays. Open-water trips cover Lake Simcoe, Muskoka Lakes, Georgian Bay, and Nottawasaga tributaries. In winter, Miles runs ice-fishing trips by snowmobile with two heated huts. Rods, reels, bait, and photos are included.
