Maitland Valley Fishing Charters is a captain-operated sport fishing and sightseeing charter running out of the "A" docks at Maitland Valley Marina in Goderich, Ontario, on the east shore of Lake Huron. Captain Dave Palmer holds MED 3, SVOP, Marine Radio Operator, Pleasure Craft Operator and First Aid certifications, and is a member of the Ontario Sportfishing Guides Association. The fishing boat, "Far From Workin II," is a 24-foot Alexis Pro by Thunderjet equipped with two SCOTTY PRO electric downriggers, Lowrance HDS sonar, and an onboard AED. Trips target salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, perch and walleye. The fishing season runs May 1 through September 15; sightseeing charters extend through October 31.

Sport Fishing Charters
For: Up to 5–6 people; anglers 18+ require an Ontario fishing licenseWhen: May 1 – September 15, 7 days a week (morning 5:30 am – 11:30 am or 4:00 pm – until dark)Trolling Lake Huron for salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, perch and walleye aboard a 24-foot Alexis Pro rigged with two SCOTTY PRO electric downriggers and Lowrance HDS Downscan/Sidescan sonar. All fishing equipment, bait, lures, and lifejackets are provided; guests are welcome to bring their own lucky lures. Captain Dave Palmer is a member of the Ontario Sportfishing Guides Association.
2025 rates per 4-person group, plus HST — 5-hour $600 / 6-hour $750 / 8-hour $1,100 (8-hour can be split morning/evening)

Sightseeing Charters
For: Up to 5–6 people; families, couples, corporate groups, and special-occasion bookingsWhen: May 1 – October 31, 7 days a week (sunrise 5:30 am – 11:30 am or sunset 4:00 pm – until dark)One- to three-hour cruises along the Lake Huron shoreline from Goderich — sunrise and sunset rides, fireworks viewing, and bookings for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and corporate team-building. Runs aboard "Far From Workin II" with an AED carried on every trip.
